Tomorrow, April 8 might as well be Christmas in April. That’s because tomorrow Ben & Jerry’s will make it rain with Free Cone Day nationwide. The beloved New England-based ice cream company plans to hand out scoops of fantastic B&J flavors to hungry patrons, leaving “no hand unconed,” according to the company. For those of you craving an ice cream fix tomorrow, Ben & Jerry’s will be passing out free cones at three shops in Boston including: Newbury Street, the Prudential Center and the Park Plaza Hotel location. According to a source, there will also be free cones available in Braintree, Natick and Harvard Square. So if you live, work and/or play in these areas – we recommend planning your free scoop getaway now. Customers can choose any flavor they want for their free cone – but we recommend trying some of Ben & Jerry’s newest flavors which include Salted Caramel Blondie, Hazed and Confused, Cotton Candy and more. The shops in and around Boston will be giving away cones from noon to 8 p.m. tomorrow. And customers should also know that they can come back “as many times as their tummys can handle,” according to an official source. The Huffington Post notes that Ben & Jerry’s Free Cone Day first came about when founders, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, “had just survived their first year of running a business.” They were looking to thank their community by giving everyone ice cream and thus, Free Cone Day was born. 35 years later, fans are still reaping the free cone benefits and indulging in plenty of special Ben & Jerry’s flavors.
